CareMatch are pleased to celebrate their first birthday delivering care to the residents of West Berkshire. We have had the pleasure of working with a dedicated team in West Berkshire County Council, who had a vision similar to ours of “tackling care delivery differently.”
Within the care industry, we have never experienced such a willingness to collaborate and cooperate from a local authority- not just from the side-lines but to truly get involved from the initial meet and greets, to supporting the service, with access to the reablement team, and seconding a social worker to work closely with the team. This ensured we achieved our initial remit of an efficient and effective quality service that cost the Local Authority the same (or less), paid the carers more and improved delivery.
What is that I hear? “Surely it can’t be done?”**
With a real desire to deliver care differently, we created CareMatch- designed to de-stress the lives of managers and reignite the passion for care, without burning teams out. At CareMatch we have no offices or managers, but we do have great carers who deliver exceptional care to clients.
All our clients have a small select Hub built around them, consisting of one or more family members and their care team. This means that every vulnerable individual has a small team dedicated to them- Our carers call the nurses, GP’s, inform the family and engage with the client. By providing consistency, time and flexibility to go above and beyond, as well as taking complete ownership of the quality of service they deliver, CareMatch carers ensure that our clients look forward to their care visits.
Traditionally we have found that during the summer months and the Christmas period our teams were stressed and overburdened. We wanted to create a service where our staff enjoy their work, feel valued and have job satisfaction, and want to be part of something that doesn’t impose on their life, but enhances it. Thus reducing stress and anxiety for both carers and clients.
CareMatch was created with the belief that we could change care delivery- to be a part of something transformational, successful, fun and exciting, and we want to be rated as Outstanding in our delivery. Carematch was born out of the idea to utilise and build upon our already extensive experience, whilst embracing new technology to deliver an innovative and inspiring service.
In less than a year we have already received industry recognition for our innovative approach to care- We were nominated as Finalists in the Innovation in Technology category at the LaingBuisson 2018 Awards last month, and one of our carers was recently shortlisted as a finalist in the category ‘Home Care Worker Award,’ at the GBCA South West Awards . This recognition is testament to the impact that CareMatch is already having on the industry.
We have come a long way in achieving our aims, one year on and we have an extremely happy team of carers and satisfied clients, who are still able to live in their own home. We are confident that the following testimonials speak for themselves, and we look forward to an exciting future that lies ahead in 2019.
