We are extremely proud of Jerry Spary, one of our CareMatch carers, who has been nominated for an award at the Great British Care Awards- South West Awards.
Jerry’s background is not actually in care, he started his career as a trained chef in 1998. Shortly after he opened a catering company, which he ran until 2017 when he sold the business.
After he sold his business, Jerry was introduced to CareMatch, and their client Tyrone, an ex jockey who had suffered a stroke. Jerry’s relationship with Tyrone is an on-going success, and Tyrone has now been able to walk 32 metres unaided, which is an amazing achievement as he was told he would never be able to walk again.
Although Jerry’s background is not in care, he has always had an interest in care, motivated by his 3 disabled children. He is now a full time carer, looking after a small group of clients, close to his home.
In his spare time, Jerry is also a licenced Martial Arts instructor and teaches both adults and children.
We are extremely proud to call Jerry a CareMatch carer, and we would like to offer him a huge congratulations on his nomination!
